The truth will set you free…

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9-10
Many will attend a debatable teaching and say “I’m matured enough to filter out what that is correct and what that is erroneous. ” But is that the really the case ? What is the utimate motive for listening to the message ? Information lust or genuine thirst for the Truth?
Easiest way ? Measure it all up. Go by the word of God.
What fruits does it bear ? Covetousness ? Greed ? Envy ? Pride ? or does it bring forth Love ?
Ensnared in a state of self-delusion, people will falsify an outward godliness to justify his actions and masking the most covetous intent inside.
Deceitful sermons will even spur people to seek God’s face to obtain His hand.
So you say, whats wrong with that ? The intent of the heart.
“I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.” Jer 17:10
Yes. His Hand brings forth provision, health, prosperity and everything else that we need.
But is His Hand all we seek so violently? And not His face ?
Godly sermons spur people to seek and desire God for who He is. Period.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Mat 6:33
Its true. The truth will set you free.
The vice-versa is also true, falsified truth will set you in bondage and a downward spiral. Be concerned with what you read, watch and hear. Take heed to the things that exhorts/corrects you towards Godliness and not half truths that give room for sin.
